About Morning Joy

Morning Joy represents joy after a storm. Love after perseverance. Childbirth is laborious work, but it is natural, purposeful, and a beautiful part of life. “When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.” There will be moments of intensity and hard work, but what Joy comes as we press through it, and see the reward on the other side. How wonderful it is that in between the body's work of labor, that there is rest, and hope that soon a baby will be born.

What is a Doula?

Picture
A Doula mothers the mother. She is with a mother and father in the preparing phase, during every stage of labor, and the early days of parenting.  She aims to make your desires go as planned. A Doula is a mothers reassurance, encouragement, emotional and physical comfort, and labor guide. As the mother leads the way, we are her constant in the midst of the unknown. Our goal is to keep disruptions at a minimum, aid in relaxation, and to see a mother birth her child with confidence and strength. This support continues into the early days of parenting that sweet baby.

How is the Father/family member benefited from a Doula?

As your doula, we serve to support whomever you have chosen to be present and involved with the birth.  We are never a replacement, but a constant presence and support for all who need it.  We strive to enhance bonds, not interfere. We are here to work alongside, assist, guide, encourage, and affirm your husband/loved one during labor, alongside yourself. Two people are better than one, and when it comes to birth, the safer and more confident everyone feels, the better.
